Terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions apply to every appointment, treatment and workshop at Salon Maria, and to everything arising from them. They are intended to make clear in advance what you may expect from Salon Maria and what Salon Maria expects from you.

1. About Salon Maria

Salon Maria is the sole proprietorship of Maria Boersma, based at Albardastraat 41, 1505 WT Zaandam. In these terms and conditions Salon Maria is referred to as "the salon" and the client is referred to as "you".

2. Appointments

• Treatments and workshops take place by appointment only. You make an appointment via WhatsApp, by telephone or by email.
• An appointment is final as soon as the salon has confirmed it to you.
• Please arrive on time. If you arrive later, that time is deducted from your treatment, so that the client after you does not have to wait.
• Please come to a pedicure treatment with clean feet.

3. Cancelling and not attending

• Cancelling is free of charge up to 24 hours before the appointment.
• If you cancel within 24 hours before the appointment, or do not attend, the salon charges 85% of the rate for the reserved treatment. After all, that time was kept free for you.
• If the salon cannot let an appointment go ahead, for example because of illness, you will hear this as soon as possible and you will arrange a new time together. In that case you pay nothing.

4. Rates and payment

• The rates are on the prices page. The salon may change its rates; for an appointment that has already been confirmed, the rate that applied when that appointment was made applies.
• You pay after the treatment, in cash or via a Tikkie.
• You pay for a five-treatment card in advance. A five-treatment card is valid for one year from the date of purchase and cannot be exchanged for money.
• If payment is not made, the statutory rules on default, interest and collection costs apply.

5. Guarantee on a pedicure treatment

A pedicure treatment carries a guarantee of three weeks. If you continue to have pain in the treated area during that period, get in touch; the salon will remedy those complaints free of charge. The guarantee does not apply to new complaints, to damage caused by your own actions or by footwear, and not to polish and gel polish.

6. Health and what you tell us in advance

• At your first appointment, tell us whether you use blood thinners, have diabetes or have another medical background, and report any changes in the meantime. This does not change the salon's careful way of working, but it is important to know.
• A treatment at the salon is a care treatment and not a medical treatment. The salon does not make a diagnosis and does not replace a doctor, podiatrist or other healthcare provider. For complaints the salon cannot do anything about, such as a fungal infection, you will be given advice and a referral.
• Reiki is not advised if you use medication, have a transplanted organ or are under the care of a doctor. In those cases, discuss it in advance. Reiki is not a medical treatment and does not replace medical advice or medication.
• If the salon does not consider it responsible to carry out a treatment, it may refuse or stop a treatment.

7. Workshops

• You sign up for a workshop via WhatsApp. After you sign up you receive the information and, with a reservation, a confirmation.
• A workshop costs € 45 per person and takes place with a maximum of six participants.
• The same periods apply to cancelling as for a treatment, as described in article 3.
• The materials that belong to the workshop are included in the price and remain yours afterwards.

8. House rules

• The salon is at a private home. Cats live in the building; please take this into account if you have an allergy.
• The salon is step-free and is on the ground floor. Parking is free nearby.
• If you have complaints that may be contagious, report this in advance; you will then find another time together.

9. Liability

• The salon carries out its work carefully and makes every effort to achieve a good result. It gives no guarantee of a particular result, apart from the guarantee in article 5.
• The salon is not liable for damage arising because you have given incorrect or incomplete information about your health.
• The salon is not liable for loss, theft or damage to your property in or around the salon.
• If the salon is liable, that liability is limited to the amount of the treatment concerned, or to the amount that its insurer pays out in that case. These limitations do not apply in the event of intent or deliberate recklessness.

10. Complaints

If you are not satisfied about something, let us know as soon as possible, preferably within fourteen days after you noticed it. Then the salon can do something about it. You can reach Maria via WhatsApp, by telephone or by email. If you cannot resolve it together, you can submit the dispute to the competent court.

11. Personal data

How the salon handles your data is set out in the privacy statement. The use of cookies is set out in the cookie statement.

12. Applicable law and changes

These terms and conditions are governed by Dutch law. The salon may change these terms and conditions. For an appointment that has already been confirmed, the version that applied at the moment of confirmation applies. The current version is always on this page.

These terms and conditions have been drawn up for Salon Maria and have not been checked by a lawyer. Have them reviewed before use if you want certainty about their legal soundness.
